Chen, Yi-Fan. (2018, April 10) Statistical Getting Started with Interim Analysis: Group Sequential Tests [PDF of PowerPoint slides]. Institute for Health Research and Policy, University of Illinois at Chicago.

Group sequential tests are commonly used for interim analysis in clinical trials to monitor progress for early termination. Dr. Chen introduced such an analysis and demonstrated a simple example in R software.
