This session offered practical guidance on using images, extracts and other materials in compliance with U.S. copyright law when discussing research formally and informally — in scientific conferences, webinars, manuscripts and social media.

A 40-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A, covered copyright law, the fair use clause, fair use scenarios and best practices, public domain,Creative Commons, and open access sources.

The session welocmed all IHRP Fellows, investigators, research team members, postdoctoral associates and trainees.

Other UIC researchers in the social and health sciences were also welcomed to attend this session.
