Meta-Analysis and the Early Career Researcher

DuBois, David (2019, December 11). Meta-Analysis and the Early Career Researcher [PDF of PowerPoint slides]. Institute for Health Research and Policy, University of Illinois at Chicago.

Conducting a meta-analysis offers many potential benefits to early career researchers, including scholarly recognition, development of content expertise, an opportunity to directly inform practice or policy, and even professional networking. With these considerations in mind, this session provided a non-technical overview of the steps involved in conducting a meta-analysis.

The session included brief illustrative applications, highlight practical resources for implementation, and discuss strengths and limitations of meta-analysis as a methodology, all from the perspective of an applied (non-statistician) researcher.
