Graduate Hourly Position - Nutritional Analysis

The Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago is conducting a multi-year project to examine the impact of public health policies on environmental factors and diet. We are seeking to hire a Graduate Hourly employee to conduct nutritional analysis on food and beverage products. This temporary hourly position will include training and work throughout the summer period. The position will pay an hourly rate of $23.16. While there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week and it may vary, this position will typically work 40 hours per week.

Duties:

In this position, the incumbent will:

  • Identify nutritional composition of food and beverage products based on UPCs and product descriptions
  • Use USDA Food Composition Database to extract information on products
  • Maintain products database and report product information using standardized categories/variables

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or completed MA or higher in Nutrition or related field;
  • Experience using USDA Food Composition Database;
  • Very strong organizational skills;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Strong computer literacy in Word, Excel, Internet;
  • Desired qualifications:
  • Previous experience in nutrition research
