Join Our Meetings!

We in the IHRP Center for Health Behavior Research (CHBR) invite you to participate in our weekly meetings.

Sunrise Mentoring meetings are held Wednesdays, 10 – 11 a.m. in conference room 577 at IHRP.

We offer mentorship and peer support to junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows in these meetings. You will find input and support for your grant proposals, presentations, and publications under development. Attendees share and provide constructive feedback on each other’s work through stages of the writing process, from development to submission.

Lifestyle Research Collaboratory meetings are held Wednesdays at 4 – 5 p.m. in the same location.

These meetings are open to researchers across disciplines and colleges who share an interest in lifestyle or behavioral medicine research. The meetings provide a friendly and collaborative forum for researchers to present their scholarly activities, learn about faculty and projects in different colleges and departments, and get feedback on ideas/planned research from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The group discusses and provides feedback around study conceptualization and design, specific aims, methodological issues, partial drafts, and reviewer responses. For each NIH grant submission cycle, we host meetings dedicated to grant reviews in a structured schedule.

CHBR director Dr. Jun Ma, MD, PhD, chairs these meetings.

For more information, contact CHBR coordinator Justine Kessler, MPH, at jkessl4@uic.edu or (312) 413-9831.
