Surrey M. Walton, PhD

Associate Professor of Pharmacy Administration

Dr. Surrey Walton is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy, and assistant director of the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research in the UIC College of Pharmacy. He is also holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Economics at UIC. He was a founding member of the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research in 2002.

He collaborated in research with Dr. Judith Cooksey and others in the Midwest Center for Health Workforce Studies at IHRP in 2001-2007, and became that center's principal investigator after Dr. Cooksey left UIC.

Dr. Walton holds a BS in economics from UCLA, and a master's and doctorate degree in economics from the University of Chicago, where he specialized in labor and health economics. He conducts quantitative research in health services evaluation, health economics, pharmacoeconomics, and health care labor markets.
