Daniel R. Taber, PhD, MPH
Former IHRP Postdoctoral Research Associate
Dr. Taber is assistant professor in the School of Public Health at the University of Texas at Austin. He studies the effects of school-based policies on diet, physical activity, and weight status among adolescents, with a particular focus on analyzing racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in policy effectiveness. He is expanding his research to examine how school-based policy effects are modified by economic and contextual factors outside of school. His long-term goal is to apply system dynamics methods to simulate the effects of policies of adolescent obesity.
Dr. Taber was a postdoctoral research associate in the Health Policy Center from 2010 to 2013. He earned his doctorate in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010, his MPH in Health Services from the University of Washington, and his BA from Pomona College.
